VTU "Kannada Kali" Initiative to Make Kannada Learning Compulsory for All Students

In order to safeguard and respect the values and demands of passionate Kannadigas, the Visvesvaraya Technological University VTU Karnataka has decided to make Kannada learning compulsory for all students under VTU.

The report as appeared in the Bangalore Mirror website states that VTU has made Kannada learning compulsory for all first-year students under the University. Passing the subject is also compulsory in order to get promoted to higher semester and the marks attained from the subject will be included in the mark sheet as well.

As most of the candidates studying under VTU are from outside the state, this move is expected to help students get more familiar with the Kannada language.

As per the latest University schedule, 4 hours per week will be set by all VTU affiliated colleges to teach Kannada to their students.

What do you think about this new rule by VTU? Do you support this move? Leave your opinion as comments below.
